Survey: Marijuana Is Less Addictive Than Other Substances

It is no secret that the public’s perception of marijuana has changed substantially over the last 20 years. Here in the U.S., the majority of states now allow medical cannabis due mainly to public pressure put on state lawmakers. Eighteen of those states also allow recreational marijuana. Now, a new survey suggests that people believe marijuana is less addictive than other substances.

The survey was conducted by the American Psychiatric Association and Morning Consult. It polled more than 2,200 adults about their thoughts on addiction and substance abuse. As it turns out, the majority of survey respondents believe that marijuana is safer and less addictive than tobacco, nicotine, alcohol, opioids and, believe it or not, technology.

As a father, understanding and navigating your rights and responsibilities is crucial for your child’s well-being. Becoming a father is a lifelong commitment, and it implies certain legal, emotional, and financial duties, irrespective of the relationship with the child’s mother. If there is uncertainty about paternity, a legal paternity test can be sought to confirm biological fatherhood, safeguarding the interests of all parties involved. Sometimes, doubts arise even before the child is born. In such instances, a paternity test while pregnant can provide early confirmation, allowing for adequate preparation and planning. Remember, even in the face of separation or divorce, the responsibilities of a father do not dissolve. These include ensuring the child’s emotional and financial stability, providing love, support, and guidance.
